Ed: Catch the Wind
:: Ed was relaxing by himself after spending some quality time with his roommate. The day was going rather well, he thought.

Now, if only he could get his arm fixed soon... he'd be able to do a lot more around the place. Right now he was pretty much useless, not able to do much on his own. It had been a long while since he actually had to function without a prosthetic arm of some sort to help him out. If he'd have to be like this for a while, he might as well try thinking of a way to make up for it.

Ed: This is Bad
:: Ed was not having much luck with his broken automail arm. It was still in complete disarray. Unfortunately, this meant things were a little harder to do. He currently sat alone in his room, staring at the empty spot of his desk where that figure of Alphonse used to be.

Yeah, he was still a little sad about that. It was just a figure purchased from a store, but it was a gift, and one representing something rather important to him. Having it taken away by a nasty shadow from the past was pretty disheartening.

Thinking about what he could still do to contribute, he contemplated the situation silently.

:: Edward was actually enjoying the new layout of the train, even though he wasn't yet entirely used to it. Things would easily be more comfortable with everything that was added, he thought, though the bigger room wasn't all that exciting in his case. Currently, he was making his way to the new Conductor's Suite, wondering just how well the woman had decided to treat herself with this little upgrade. ::

Man, it's a wonder they got all of this done so fast without using Alchemy.

:: He couldn't help but comment while passing between two carts, taking note of the nice view. The level of technology the people around here had their hands in was pretty impressive. ::

Ed: Not so Certain
:: Looking at what was left of Xiao's Restaurant of Horrors, Edward put on a slight smirk. It seemed he was checking the place out, perhaps even searching for something in the piles of scrap and abandoned rooms all around. Picking an item up off of the ground to examine, he learned that it was a 'specials' page from the last menu. ::

Heh, almost makes me regret not eating here last time. It would have been interesting to come with someone, at least.

:: His own words brought his former roommate, Asuka, to mind. She wasn't around anymore, but he wondered what it would have been like to spend an evening with her at this place if it was still open for business. He fell silent after that, just trying to read the faded text off of the menu. It seemed he had a knack for missing out on good times with the people he cared for... ::

Ed: Something is Off
:: Entering his room with a displeased expression, Edward seemed to have a few things on his mind. Obviously, they were concerning the recent turn of events.

He didn't want to talk about it, really. At the moment, he would have much rather sat down and gotten some rest. Unfortunately, he wasn't sure if he could do that. Instead, he began rummaging though his things to find a book.

Even after everything, he wasn't entirely sure what Ran's position was all about. He figured he might as well connect a few dots here and there and try to make an educated guess.

Ed: What is This?
:: Ed had been checking out the school library while he had some free time from helping the unfortunate case of Miss Brooke.

Most of the books were below his level, but there was one section hidden in the back that caught his interest. It contained a number of books regarding strange mathematics, possibly from other worlds. It was much different than what he was used to seeing, that's for sure. It seemed that some places were based on completely different bases of physics, and thus had different potentials for science and technology.

He wondered who else might be frequenting this section. These books didn't have quite enough dust on them to be
completely forgotten... ::

:: Ed was currently in his room, busy with something rather important.

He wore no shirt, and had a few tools lying around. Concentrating very hard, it seemed he was performing some maintenance on his automail arm.
::

Ngh... Okay, that seems about right. Now...

:: He was obviously very focused. It was more or less imperative that he performed this task properly, so any interruptions might prove to be for the worse. ::

Ed: Times are Good
:: Well, the whole election business was over now. Thankfully, in some ways.

Ed had been a little eager to see who would win, and now that someone had been elected, he no longer had to theorize about it. Also, the guy seemed to have some idea what he was doing, so that was good.

Feeling more or less content, he wandered around the dining cart, looking for something he might decide to call dinner. The only thing bothering him was the fact that he had run into so many new passengers as of late. Was there a reason for the sudden rise in arrivals?

:: Edward Elric casually strolled down the lounge, making his way back to his room after a round of experiments in the cooking station. He wasn't sure if he was getting anywhere with it, but cooking reminded him a lot of alchemy, and it seemed at least a worthwhile diversion for the time being.

He wasn't expecting to run into anybody while walking, but it was certainly a distinct possibility, seeing as he wasn't the only person on the train... ::

:: The Elric had gotten into the trash, it would seem.

Like a pesky raccoon, Ed had meticulously raided the lounge cart for disposed items and was now hauling a bag full of cardboard, discarded giftwrap, and other similar trash back to his room in B7. These things were about to be used in a little experiment he had concocted after his roommate decided to change his sleeping arrangements on him some time earlier.

Opening the door to the room, he was prepared to put on a scientific show. He only hoped he would have a spectator for this exciting event. ::

:: Standing outside of the train and looking around the station, Ed was quite intrigued. This place was a lot different than the train station at Central. It was also rather cold outside, which was a drastic change from the controlled temperature inside the train.

Another odd thing he noticed was how empty it seemed for a train station. It didn't look like there were any other trains around, or people besides the passengers for that matter. Maybe it was abandoned and the Valkyrie Express was taking advantage of the unused parking space?

In any case, he thought he would wander around and see if anything interesting caught his eye. ::

:: Edward was doing his best to make some progress in this new situation. He had already figured out a few things, at least...

He was on a train. The passengers on the train were more or less prisoners, and were apparently brought in from a number of different worlds. The conductor was not exactly helpful. Al was nowhere to be found.

In spite of all of these negatives, or perhaps because of them, Ed wanted a place where he could settle down quietly for a bit and work something out in his head. He decided that the first place to try would be the room he had been assigned to by the conductor. Making his way to B7, he checked that he had the right place and opened the door...

He was very surprised. The room was a complete mess, as if there was some sort of struggle. One of the beds had been thrown over, the door didn't move quite right, and there even appeared to be marks left by a knife in some places. ::

Heh. Well, so much for that.

:: Closing the door, he thought it might be best to look elsewhere for now. ::
